LGNI Director in the news – intergenerational connection #LonelinessAwarnessWeek

9 June 2022

We are delighted that the Belfast Telegraph offered our Director Vicki the opportunity to promote the importance of intergenerational connections in our communities as a way of addressing isolation and loneliness.

Ahead of #LonelinessAwarenessWeek 2022 which is next week 13th-17th June LGNI are calling on parents, education settings, youth groups and neighbours to reach out and connect with older and vulnerable people in their communities.  As Vicki says in the Belfast Telegraph Article:

“I think intergenerational is a really good way to connect communities in Northern Ireland...

“It’s not rocket science; it’s about knowing who is in your local community and reaching out. Don’t be frightened and make the link because you don’t know how much that will mean to someone else.”
