On the 11th of October LGNI facilitated another cross border workshop bringing together our intergenerational groups as part of the Linkages Across Borders project. Our partners in this project include older people from Devenish Partnership Forum and Positive Age Cavan and young people from Youth Action Brookborough and Foroige Cavan Town Youth Project. Through the project the groups formed new links locally and across borders and have been developing and taking part in their own intergenerational activities!
The workshop took place in Fermanagh House and focused on providing an opportunity for each intergenerational group to give an update on their activities and providing their thoughts so far. Everyone enjoying meeting up and also a fun icebreaker and spooky arts and crafts session making pumpkins and ghosts - just in time for Halloween!
A big thanks to the participants and leaders and also to our artist on the day Ali Coulter!
On the day the group were also asked to share their ideas and thoughts on what the final 'meetup' and activity should be. Everyone suggested that a Christmas Party would be a great way to finish off their project at the end of November. We are all looking forward to meeting up and we very much hope the links that they have formed are supported into the future!
