Celebrations at Loughview with Commissioner for Older People NI!
A couple of weeks before Christmas we celebrated the fantastic artwork created by residents of Loughview Nursing Home and their new friends from Trinity Belfast who worked alongside artist Jenni Robinson Art Boom Studios.
We have really enjoyed establishing this connection with support from the Arts Council of Northern Ireland National Lottery Good Causes Arts for Older People Programme.
A massive thank you to The Commissioner for Older People for Northern Ireland Siobhan Casey who attended the celebrations and Northern Ireland Commissioner for Children and Young People Chris Quinn who provided a video for our social channels!
This connection is so valuable for both young and old and we love building connections with a focus on sustainable links for the future. Moving forward the school and nursing home will be continuing their partnership with new Health & Social Care students visiting the residents to take part in activities as part of their enrichment.
A perfect example that intergenerational isn't just for Christmas and Age Friendly!
