GIW25# Photo Competition Winner Announced!

We are delighted to announce the winner of this years photography competition that formed part of our Global Intergenerational Week 2025 activities!

The photo captured below was submitted on behalf of May McKinley, a resident at Spa Nursing Home, Ballynahinch, who recently participated in an All Ages April event funded through LGNI's small grant scheme.

May, who also features in the photo, describes herself as being 101 years and 10 months old, but her age hasn't prevented her from making new friends! Charlotte, 10 years old, who is also in the photograph, met May back in December when her class from Spa Primary School first began visiting the care home.

Our judging panel agreed that this entry really captured the theme of the competition, "Intergenerational  Relationships" and the connections and friendships that can form when we bring generations together.

We thank each and every individual who took the time to submit an entry, making it quite the task for our judges to select their favourite, some of which can be viewed below!
