Across Borders & Generations trip to Carlingford

26 March 2024

Across Borders & Generations Trip to Carlingford!

We finished off our Across Borders & Generations Project with an intergenerational trip to Carlingford and working lunch in Newry.  Both young and old alike had lots of craic and laughs at the Last Leprechauns of Ireland Carlingford and a tour from the last Leprechaun whisperer.  Who would have known that they are now a protected species?!

We organised a quick scavenger hunt for our participants encouraging them to look for clues and  take lots of photos!  Luckily the rain held off until it was time to get on the buses for Bagenals Castle in Newry. To round off the day everyone had a lovely lunch and we took time out to discuss our projects best bits, challenges and also how to move forward with intergenerational working in our communities.

Thanks to all of our groups/partners involved - Fingal County Council, Mayobridge Youth Club, Mens Shed & Womens Group, Southern Agewell Network and Foroige Ballybriggan.  We hope your intergenerational connections flourish!  Thanks also to our Funders the Shared Island Civic Fund.
