Cross Border Intergenerational Planning Workshop in Mayobridge!

LGNI's Across Borders and Generations Project with partners Fingal County Council and funded by the Shared Island Civic Fund has been progressing well.  Following on from the first intergenerational session in Balbriggan in September newly formed intergenerational groups from Balbriggan and Mayobridge have been developing their activity ideas.

LGNI staff have delivered  a workshop in each local area aimed at providing inspiration and supporting ideas.  Young people from Mayobridge Youth Club and Foroige Balbriggan have joined forces with local older people in their communities to lead on project activities.

On the 14th October all groups met at Mayobridge Youth and Community Centre to update on what they planned to do and have some fun together!  The dancing activity seemed to go down well with all ages as did the lunch. The groups enjoyed a presentation about Mayobridge and also discussing how they plan to spend their 500 euro activity budgets!

Moving forward both groups have very different plans with a Campaign on hidden disabilities in planning for the Balbriggan group and a series of intergenerational community activities being organised by the Mayobridge Group.
