Cross border Intergenerational session in Balbriggan!

LGNI's and Fingal County Councils partnership Across Borders & Generations Project has officially started!  The first session was held at the amazing Irish Institute of Music and Song venue in Balbriggan on the 9th September.

Mayobridge Youth Club bused it down with members of Mayobridge womens/seniors groups to take part in the workshop with young people from Foroige and older people groups in Balbriggan.

Vicki and Joyce from LGNI facilitated the worskhop which focused on:

• Icebreakers, getting to know one another and project expectations
• Views on ageing, ageism and stereotypes
• Identifying issues faced by younger and older people in their communities
• Exploring ideas and opportunities to address issues intergenerationally
• Having fun with an intergenerational drumming activity!

A great day was had by all and the two newly formed intergenerational groups are looking forward to linking in with LGNI to develop their intergenerational project plans!  Everyone will be getting together again on the 14th of October in Mayobridge to pitch their exciting ideas and take part in more relationship building activities!
