GIW24 Photo Competition Winner Announced!

The judges had a difficult task in choosing an overall winner for this years Global Intergenerational Week – Linking Generations NI photo competition!

In conjunction with the Commissioner for Older People for Northern Ireland and the Northern Ireland Commissioner for Children & Young People this years theme was 'Intergenerational Happiness'.

All of the 33 entries received captured this perfectly, through a variety of intergenerational activities.

We're delighted to announce that the winning entry was submitted by Leah Briggs, a class teacher from Knockbreada Primary School who will receive the £50 Spar voucher to enjoy in a local store.

Captured in the picture above is Nell Whitehead (10 years old) a pupil in Primary six at Knockbreda Primary School with her friend Noel, a resident at Annandale Care Home. Nell met Noel through the Linking Generations Programme where her class made links with the home to visit the residents and take part in activities together. In this picture Nell and Noel were working on their design for a bird house which they are going to paint together during their next visit.
