Intergenerational Training for Early Years Practitioners

LGNI have successfully delivered Intergenerational Training for Early Years practitioners, to a range of settings from across NI as part of our Creating Intergenerational Communities UK partnership Project.

A total of 18 staff members from childcare facilities, community and school-based play groups and nursery settings, have all completed this training and are now better equipped to undertake and develop intergenerational activities within their individual settings.

This CPD accredited Intergenerational training, covered areas including what is intergenerational practice, good practice in bringing generations together, activity ideas and evaluation and sustainability planning, specific to the Early Years sector.

Feedback about our training included comments such as below.

"The best training I’ve attended in years. The ladies facilitating the training were exceptional- passionate, knowledgeable and just love what they do. Blown away by the fact they are coordinating throughout Northern Ireland with a team of three!! Keep up the great work."

“Great training. Extending the knowledge I had and giving me more ideas going forward.”

“Very informative and very positive and I’m looking forward to starting a project in our setting.”

We now look forward to identifying 5 of these settings to take part in our UK wide 'Creating Intergenerational Communities' project, funded by The National Lottery Community Fund, together with our partners Generations Working Together and Apples and Honey Nightingale.

Exciting times ahead, watch this space!
