LGNI are dreaming of an
Age Connected Christmas this year!

This year LGNI are not only dreaming of a White Christmas but an Age Connected Christmas!  We have all been through a tough few years and with the relaxation of Covid restrictions see such amazing opportunities to connect during the festive season!  We need the help of our supporters and want to share our ideas and resources to inspire you all to reach out and make Intergenerational Christmas Connections!

Just click the links below to access each resource!

Check out our 10 Ideas to Connect Generations This Christmas resource packed full of simple ideas to bring generations together and spread some festive joy and love. Perfect for schools, youth groups and care settings as well as within your own family.

Our 2021 An Ideas Guide to Spark Generation Connections this Christmas was designed specifically for Education settings (schools, colleges and nurseries) to provide some inspiration for intergenerational connections during Covid however many of these ideas can be adapted to include face to face contact!  Why not invite grandparents & local older people to the school nativity, have a Christmas party or bring the party to a local care setting!

LGNI's have again partnered with Twinkl Northern Ireland to develop Intergenerational Christmas Resources for use with school pupils linked to the NI Curriculum!  Check them out - Twinkl LGNI Christmas Resources

Use LGNI's Christmas Quiz as an activity to bring older people to your school or youth group, with schools and nurseries visiting your care setting, as part of your community or family festive celebrations! intergenerational teams, festive food, music and fun!

We have developed an Intergenerational Christmas Bauble. The perfect way to send a message of hope and love to a member of a different generation. This would be the perfect activity to get everyone in the festive spirit and can be used in loads of different ways:

  • Laminate your bauble and hang it to use outside
  • Do a bauble swap with another group of a different age - Care Home, School, nursery, local fold
  • Set up a wishing tree in your local community
  • Set up an outdoor Christmas Concert and use your baubles as invitations
  • Share them with older people in your community or family
  • Use as gift tags onto Christmas presents

We would love to hear about your Christmas Connections and see your bauble designs!  Make sure to take photos and tag us on our Facebook page Instagram, Twitter @LinkGenNI, LinkedIn or get in touch and we can share your story to inspire others!
