"REAP what you Sow through Art" projects underway!

We are delighted to have kicked off all three of our intergenerational arts projects funded by the Arts Council NI and National Lottery Rural Engagement in Arts Programme.

LGNI staff created new linkages between three older people's groups and three schools to embark on this exciting project.

Our partners include:

• Saintfield Men's Shed and Saintfield High School
• Sion Mills Community Association and Sion Mills Integrated Primary School & Grandparents
• Portaferry Community Services and Portaferry Integrated Primary School

Everyone really enjoyed meeting up for the first time and spending some time to get to know each other, discussing how we think about age, the importance of intergenerational connections and art ideas for the project! Human bingo went down particularly well with everyone having a laugh!

LGNI staff will now be sourcing artists based on the participants interests, existing skills and resources available. We look forward to the next session 'Generating our Arts Ideas' which will be used to plan out the next five weeks of arts activities.
