Are you a teacher/educator and interested in developing intergenerational connections in your school but just aren't sure how to do it, need ideas and support to help you develop links?  With LGNI's Global Intergenerational Week Campaign just around the corner our team are hosting a webinar on the 15th April @ 4pm to support schools and education settings to get involved.

This short and FREE webinar will showcase new resources developed in partnership with Twinkl NI, LGNI resources/ideas and provide information on how to get your school involved in GIW24!

At LGNI we believe that intergenerational connections in schools should be the norm all year round!  Our research shows that intergenerational connections aren't just great fun for all involved but support the achievement of educational outcomes too!

In 2021 LGNI's Launched Research: An Intergenerational Approach to Improving Skills and Educational Outcomes for Children and Young People in Northern Ireland.

The research shows that intergenerational activities support a range of curricular areas including: Personal Development & Mutual Understanding, Skills for Life & Work, Citizenship, Health & Social Care, Volunteering and much more.  It also contributes to the community links element of the Department of Education NI's Every School a Good School Policy.  Check out this video from the Previous Minister of Education NI re his support for the research also at the bottom of this page.

We look forward to welcoming you to our webinar and hopefully to the amazing intergenerational community across NI.
