29 November 2023

Accredited Intergenerational Training for Older People's Setting Leads!

LGNI have successfully delivered Intergenerational Training to the partnering leads of our Early years settings, within our older peoples settings from across NI, as part of our Creating Intergenerational Communities UK partnership Project.

A total of 12  staff members and volunteers from care homes and community groups, have all completed this training and are now better equipped to undertake and develop intergenerational activities within their individual settings, together with their Early years partnering pilot.

This CPD accredited Intergenerational training, covered areas including what is intergenerational practice, good practice in bringing generations together, activity ideas and evaluation and sustainability planning, specific to those working with older people within residential and community settings.

Feedback from the training included comments such as below:

"Very enjoyable training and very excited about the project overall. Thanks to all involved."

"I think it hit every aspect it needed to, was also very engaging."

Now that all our project leads have completed their Intergenerational training, they will progress on to complete further training on our developed quality indicators toolkit, which our six partnerships will trial while completing regular intergenerational activities.

We can't wait to see the results!
