LGNI are delighted to get our first intergenerational pairing developed as part of our Intergenerational Community Connections project supported by the Halifax Foundation. Connections have been fostered between Laurelhill Community College and Laurelhill Care Home in Lisburn by LGNI's Joyce.
The pupils involved are all currently studying Health & Social Care at the College and being part of this project will support their learning. Joyce firstly delivered Dementia Awareness training to all of the pupils who are now beginning to interact with residents and take part in fun activities.
Its such a great project for all involved being beneficial for young and old as well as their education and care settings.
